Mór Fischer named his characteristic decorations after the customers as a sign of his high regard and respect for his clients. Since Herend's repertoire and pattern book were very diverse, it was easier to identify the different decorations with a single name. At the same time, the presentation of the high-profile clients and the previous clientele won the trust of many new clients.



The Esterházy family was one of Fischer's most enthusiastic patrons. The family's name is preserved in the Herend sample treasure by an originally Chinese ornamentation: white tufts of grass with small flowers on a reddish, rust-brown background and Chinese characters - the original pattern was brought to Hungary by Móric Esterházy's ancestor from St. Petersburg.

In the history of Herend, the fact that the Vienna porcelain factory, the second oldest manufactory in the region and one with great historical traditions, ceased production in 1862 is also very significant. After that, Fischer's customer base, which specializes in the production of artistically designed, unique porcelains, expanded spectacularly.



After the Austro-Hungarian settlement (after 1867), orders from the royal court were also very important. In addition to the sets made for the royal court - Budavári Palace, Gödöllő Castle - diplomatic gifts were also often ordered from Herend.
